Ayurvedic Food Combining Principles

*Avoid seed or nut milks or yogurt with sour or citrus fruits; the only exception would be soaked or sprouted seeds or nuts
*Avoid milk with bananas, fish, melons, yogurt, citrus, kichidi, bread made with yeast.
*Avoid yogurt with milk, sour fruit, melon, fish, mango, starches, cheese, banana
*Fruits & grains or other starchy foods should be eaten separately
*Melons should be eaten alone ("or leave them alone")
*Avoid eggs with milk, yogurt, cheese, fruit, potatoes
*Avoid starches with bananas, eggs, milk, dates
*Avoid honey with equal proportions of ghee and grains
*Avoid corn with dates, raisins, bananas
*Avoid lemon with yogurt, milk, cucumber, tomato
*Avoid nightshades (potato, tomato, eggplant) with yogurt, milk, melon, cucumber
*Honey should never be heated. Natural raw honey is nectar.
*Nuts or seeds and fruit should be eaten separately.
*Cold beverages should not be consumed during or directly after a meal as it will arrest metabolism.
*While eating one should thoroughly masticate so that food will soften and combine well with saliva.
